The tree plantation program was taken up and the areas were selected where the waste waters were creating unwanted germs and these waste waters were diverted to the growth of the trees and the plants. The plantation of the trees in the kitchen garden was also motivated to the women.

During the recent years the duplication and the misappropriation of the weights and the measures are becoming common. But the rural poor are not able to identify these changes and cheats and are easily carried away by false advertisements. So special classes on the consumer literacy were organized and the education on the same was instrumental in sensitizing the participants.

The polio drops observation camp were organized at sulthanpet, Mudaliarpet and at Thirukanur and the mother who had children below 5 years were motivated to bring their children to get administered with the polio drops. The camps were jointly carried out the local youth groups and this has resulted in increased number of children being administered with the polio drops during the year. The parents have begun to realize the need to administer these practices.

Our society organized an eye camp program with primary health centre co-operation. Around 300 patients attended the camp and 505 patients were selected for free eye surgery. Free spectacles also given to old persons. At the end of the program our president had given vote of thanks. Afternoon lunch arranged for co-coordinators.

Family counseling program was conducted in the premises of folk arts and cultural society as many as 200 families with their children attended. Family counseling center CSWB - New Delhi gave lectures about family counseling.
